Declaration: Students, Faculty, and Staff to Avoid Unnecessary Travel Domestically and Internationally
The following advisement from the University will continue through the end of the Fall 2020 semester:
All members of the SCSU campus community, including new and returning students, faculty, staff, and management, are advised to avoid unnecessary international and domestic travel. Any member of the campus community that travels internationally must self-isolate for 14 days prior to coming to campus, per Centers for Disease Control recommendations (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/index.html).
University-sanctioned domestic and international travel will not be permitted for faculty, staff, and management. Executive Vice President of Finance and Administration, Mark Rozewski, may approve travel deemed critical for maintaining the daily operations of the University on a case-by-case basis.
University-sanctioned domestic travel for students will be permitted only under special circumstances, and will require approval by Dr. Tracy Tyree, Vice President for Student Affairs. Approved travel will require students to wear face coverings and observe appropriate social distancing measures as defined by the Centers for Disease Control (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/social-distancing.html).
The University has cancelled all Fall 2020 faculty-led study abroad programming through the Office of International Education. Students are prohibited from participating in study abroad through University partner institutions and third-party affiliates.
International students on a student (F/J) visa will be permitted to begin or continue their academic programs in person if they currently reside in the U.S. or are able to secure visas to enter the U.S., and will be subject to appropriate self-isolation (as applicable), testing, and contact tracing measures implemented by the University.
