From the President, re: COVID Project Coordinator

June 3, 2020

Dear Colleagues,

As you know, we are entering a period of intense planning for the reopening of Southern next fall. The task before us is extensive, with course delivery and scheduling, student services and housing and critical health and safety measures all needing to be incorporated into an overall plan of operation.

To ensure that this plan is completed as efficiently as possible within a tight deadline, I have appointed Anthony Richardson as our COVID project coordinator, effective immediately.

An assistant professor of  Business Information Systems in our School of Business, Anthony is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with broad experience in the healthcare, commercial building systems, and aerospace industries.

He is the owner and principal consultant with Spelman Consulting in Wethersfield, providing project management support, training, and analytics consulting services for all business industries.

His previous clients include  Yale University, Hartford HealthCare  and United Technologies Corporation.

Anthony will be working closely with each of our vice presidents on their divisional planning, as well as assembling the final documents that we must submit to the CSCU System Office and the state Department of Public Health in July.

His insights and expertise will be invaluable to us as we negotiate this complex process. Please offer Anthony every assistance if he reaches out to you in the coming weeks for information that will support our planning.
