Preparing for Remote Advising

Dear Faculty and Staff,

In an effort to ensure continued enrollment with as few barriers as possible, the decision has been made to remove the need for PINs for fall 2020 course registration only. There are a few populations of students who register before their priority dates (Honors College, DRC students, SEOP students with 60 or less credits, and incoming transfers); the Directors of these departments will be contacted directly by the registrar with a unique pin to share with the students in their group that will grant them access to register for classes during their appointed registration period.

With this said, students will be even more in need of your academic advising support this semester! We will be communicating with students about this change and inform them that they should plan to work with their assigned academic advisors to plan their courses of study. Please reach out to your assigned advisees in the next week. This point of contact will mean more than ever as they are finding their new normal in the online learning environment.  You can find a listing of your advisees and email all of them within Navigate. For more information about Navigate, click here to visit the Navigate help page.

The Department of Academic Advising is providing support services for all students through their Academic Advising Centers (AACs), including but not limited to those who are experiencing challenges that are impacting their academic success, struggling in current major(s) and/or exploring majors, and who need help navigating University curriculum, policy and/or procedure. Click here, to visit the Academic Advising Department website for more information.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to either of us if you have any questions.
