Lab/Studio Access Update

July 10, 2020

Dear Colleagues,

The University community has recently received guidance regarding campus office re-opening.  We write with clarification for those individuals requiring access to laboratories, studios or comparable facilities for the purposes of scholarship and creative activities.    Per previous guidelines individuals are still required to complete training and to also follow an approved Lab/Studio safety plan [].  Newly instituted updated University policy, however, means you are no longer required to inform our Police upon arrival or departure.  Notification and approval for individual visits will now be requested directly from directors/supervisors.

Individuals are further reminded that research protection committees must be consulted before resuming research involving human subject or animals. Committee chairs are revamping policies and procedures on an on-going basis to meet local, state, and federal guidelines. Individuals should consult the research protection office website on a regular basis for updates  [] and also contact information committee chairs.
