Emergency Funds for Students

Dear Faculty and Staff,

We know that our current situation has created some significant hardships for our students. I wanted to take a minute to remind you of our Student Emergency Fund managed through the Dean of Students Office.

When students experience a personal crisis or an emergency situation, such as we are experiencing today, they may be overwhelmed by their circumstances. Recognizing that unforeseen financial emergency situations may occur for students, Southern Connecticut State University, the SCSU Foundation and Alumni Association have compiled a number of funding opportunities to assist students who may be in need.  These funding sources are designed to provide temporary, short time financial assistance for students who are managing demanding academic requirements while struggling with difficult circumstances.

Considering the sensitivity of each situation, all information shared by the student seeking emergency funding will be kept private. Information about the student or circumstances will only be shared with individuals who have a legitimate need to be informed in order to help the student.   

Please refer all students who may be in need of support from this program to the Dean of Students team. They can contact us by phone, email or by setting up an appointment online.
