Southern Connecticut State University will hold its Undergraduate Commencement ceremony on Friday, May 24, 2019, at the Webster Bank Arena, 600 Main Street, in Bridgeport, beginning with an academic procession at 10:15 a.m.
Students eligible to participate in commencement include students who have completed their degree requirements in fall 2018 and winter 2019 and students who applied for a spring 2019 and summer 2019 degree with the Registrar’s Office and have more than 100 credits earned (including in-progress credits).
Undergraduate information guides and a site map will be mailed to eligible students home address.
Students can also go to the Commencement website for a printable “Commencement Guide for Undergraduate Students”.
Caps and Gowns
Candidates for the bachelor’s degree must purchase a cap and gown at the university bookstore in order to participate in the ceremony. Caps and gowns will be available beginning Monday, April 8th.
Thursday, May 23, 2019, 2:00p.m. (School of Arts and Sciences and the School of Health & Human Services) and 7:00 p.m. (School of Business and the School of Education, including Library Science).

The university will hold its spring commencement ceremonies for students receiving Master’s Degrees, Sixth Year Professional Diplomas, and Doctoral Degrees.

Candidates for Graduate Degrees and Sixth Year Diplomas must wear appropriate academic regalia (Master’s and Doctoral Degree students wear cap, tassel, gown, and hood; Sixth Year Diploma students wear cap, tassel, gown, hood, and stole). Regalia can be purchased through the Campus Barnes and Noble Bookstore, located in the lower level of the Adanti Student Center.
Academic regalia will be available for purchase through the campus bookstore by May 2nd (three weeks before the commencement ceremony)
