Buley Library Offers Curbside Service During Winter Break

December 11, 2020

Dear Southern Community,

We’ve got great news — Buley will once again offer checkouts of physical materials in December and January
for your research needs beginning December 18, 2020.

Schedule for Curbside Pickup

Mon., Dec. 21

Wed., Dec. 23

Mon., Dec. 28

Wed., Dec. 30

Mon., Jan. 4

Wed., Jan. 6

How it Works

Curbside pickup is simple. Appointments and requests must be made at least a day prior to pick up to ensure
we can have your items ready for you.

Please bring your faculty or student ID card for pickup. After arriving at the loading dock of the Buley Library
building at your appointment time, call 203-392-5756 and let library staff know that you have arrived. Please be
prepared to provide a description of your vehicle, and if you have any special needs or instructions. If you don’t
own a cell phone, please call before you leave your home, and our staff will be happy to assist you.

When our staff approach your vehicle, please press your library card against your vehicle’s window (so that we can
verify your library card number), and pop your trunk. Staff will then place your holds in your trunk and close it for you.
If you don’t have a trunk, our staff will put your holds in the backseat of your vehicle.

Once you are done with your materials, you can return them using our book drop in front of the building.

How We’re Keeping You Safe

Our first priority during this time is to protect the health and well-being of you and our faculty and staff.

Our curbside service is designed to minimize human contact as much as possible. Once you return your
library materials to the book drop, they will be placed in quarantine for three days before they’re placed back
into circulation.

Our faculty and staff are required to wear face masks at all times.
