Backpack and School Supply Drive

The Office of Student Involvement and Leadership Development is once again holding the Annual Backpack and School Supply Drive, which serves children in need in the surrounding community. Each year, through generous contributions of university faculty and staff, about 90 backpacks full of school supplies have been donated to New Haven’s Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services, Family Centered Services of CT, and the King Robinson School. This year, the goal is to gather the Southern community in an effort to collect over 100 backpacks full of school supplies.

As we move toward the beginning of another school year, our hope is that these backpacks will put a smile on the faces of the children who receive them, as well as those who participate in their donation and assembly. This rewarding experience provides the children of our community with an opportunity to begin the school year all of the supplies they need to be successful in the classroom.

Donations will be accepted through August 26, 2019. Items can be dropped off in the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership Development (Adanti Student Center 212) as well as the Resource Center located on the 2nd floor of the Adanti Student Center.
