We invite applications for a 10-month full time fellowship position serving as a faculty member within the School of Nursing. Fellows will be hired for a 2-year appointment, beginning August 28, 2023, at the Assistant Professor rank and salary level. The position will include a reduced credit load and opportunities for professional development with teaching, research and service.

The School of Nursing at Southern Connecticut State University is part of the College of Health and Human Services where 24 different disciplines share values of interprofessional, experiential, and community-engaged teaching and learning. The School of Nursing is located in the new 94,000 square foot Health and Human Services building. These state-of-the-art facilities include faculty and staff offices, interprofessional simulation center, standardized patient rooms, home healthcare apartment, and four large nursing skill laboratories.

Brief Description of Duties/Responsibilities

Ability to teach across the curriculum with specialization preference in medical surgical nursing. Credit towards teaching load can be earned through teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, direct and indirect clinical supervision, laboratory instruction, and through thesis/special project/dissertation advisement. In addition to classroom and clinical teaching responsibilities, faculty are expected to engage in scholarship/creative activity, service, and student advisement.

Required Qualifications

  • Master of science (MSN) or doctoral degree in Nursing;
  • If MSN prepared, substantial progress towards the doctorate required with anticipated completion within one year;
  • State of Connecticut RN license (or eligible);
  • Ability to contribute to the diversity and excellence of the university.
