The Department of Health and Movement Sciences invites applications for a 10-month full time fellowship position serving as a faculty member within the Department of Health and Movement Sciences. Fellows will be hired for a 2-year appointment at the Assistant Professor rank and salary level. The position will include a reduced teaching load to allow for professional development with teaching, research and service.
As a broad and diverse department, Health and Movement Sciences is committed to educating and developing leaders and practitioners in the areas of athletic training, exercise science, health science, human performance, physical education, respiratory care, and school health education to benefit the public at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Health and Movement Sciences is housed within the College of Health and Human Services which offers a broad portfolio of academic programs. Our new 94,750 square foot Health and Human Services Building serves as a hub for most of our renowned health and human services programs — fostering stronger interdisciplinary connections between students, faculty, and staff — and dramatically enhancing student learning experiences.
Brief Description of Duties/Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities will be teaching within the university’s online graduate School Health Education (SHE) program and in the undergraduate School Health minor program, with potential to teach in the Health and Wellness Coaching program. Courses assigned by the Chairperson of the Department of Health and Movement Sciences in consultation with the SHE Program Coordinator. This includes teaching courses in the areas of school health education, program planning and evaluation, drug education, and/or other areas to support the department and program mission. Additional responsibilities will include: engaging in scholarly activity through publications, presentations, grant writing and/or research; providing professional service to the department, school, university and profession; and advising undergraduate students.
Required Qualifications
- Earned doctorate or ABD in health education, school health education, public health or related discipline;
- Ability to contribute to the diversity and excellence of the university.
